THE THIRTEENTH WIDOW ( by Joseph R. Alila ) about the Luo widow and her male counterpart, the widower. Two individuals tragically held hostage by the demands of culture and tradition. In this tragic, but at times hilarious, story, Joseph R Alila allows the reader to follow a tragic man from earth to virtual heaven onward to hell, all in the land of widows. Thanks to alcohol, a soft spot for women, and the meanspirited schemes of one clan member. One man inherits thirteen widows in his lifetime and dies while at his game. What makes a man that tragic? That is the question the reader ends up asking as the story in the book matures.
