Ruto could be which tribal chieftain? An does it pay if he is one? He must earn his notch, and this is the opportunity for one. As most Rift Valley politicians have learnt, one does not become a tribal chieftain by posing for cameramen in a nineteenth century tribal regalia. He will learn to survive political isolation within Rift Valley itself (where is the total man? Where is Too?) before he faces the man he claims to be his respectful equal. “Agwambo” means a timelessness and special power that is beyond understanding. Ruto has none of that.
